Abstract (EN)

In this study, timber minarets with different construction systems were examined, and the two most widely used construction systems were examined in detail. Models of 1/10 scale of these minarets were made and exposed to various earthquake effects, displacement and stress values were obtained and compared with each other. In the first chapter, historical cultural heritage, conservation methods, various effects of earthquakes in our country, timber minarets are mentioned, introduction, purpose, scope and research method are explained. In the second chapter, resources related to the subject were searched. In the third chapter, the importance of minarets in the Islamic geography and our country is mentioned, and the building materials used in the construction of the minarets are examined. The similarities between the diagrid systems and the construction systems of timber minarets were examined and the details of the designed minarets were given. After the scaling of the selected earthquakes, shaking table tests were applied to the model models, and the accuracy of the SAP2000 models were investigated by comparing the displacements in the models created with the SAP2000 program. Finally, as a result of different earthquake accelerations, the element forces and displacements of the SAP2000 models were examined comparatively. In the fourth chapter, the displacements and the elemen stresses data obtained as a result of the studies were made into graphics and the findings obtained during the study were summarized. In the fifth chapter, the results and suggestions related to the studies are given.
