Abstract (EN)
Freedom of expression has a separate place from other fundamental rights and freedoms. Because, this freedom is accepted as the basis for the protection of other rights and freedoms. For example, it is not possible to separate the right to life, which is one of the fundamental rights, from the freedom of expression. For this reason, freedom of expression has been the subject of different regulations in a democratic society. In the first part of the study, the definition of expression and its development process will be emphasized, and in this context, various reflections of this freedom will be mentioned. In the second part of the study, the provisions on the protection and limitation of freedom of expression will be included within the framework of the European Convention on Human Rights. In the third part, examples of how freedom of expression is reflected in Higher Courts in Turkey decisions will be discussed along with its place and development process in our country.
