Abstract (EN)

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to examine the social media-internet-TV use situation, complementary medical practices and family physicians' opinions to reach the health information of the patients who applied to the aimed family medicine policlinic. MATERIALS AND METHOD: Therefore,150 people were included in the study, who volunteered to participate in the research from the patients that applied to the family medicine clinic of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Health Practice and Research Hospital between November 2017 and January 2018. In line with the aim of the study, there are categorically answered questions covering the participants' demographic questionnaire including age, gender and health status, nutrition patterns, opinions about family physicians and opinions about alternative medicine methods FINDINGS: Of these, 62,7% are female and the rest are male. The average age of all participants is 35.58. According to the results of the descriptive and Chi-square analyzes, the participants found that the family medicine system was suitable for our country, in the first step the patients came to print more prescriptions and most of the participants did not receive health care at home. CONCLUSION: The majority of people prefer family medicine according to their availability. Informing them about how they should behave during diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation before they arrive at the family medical center (such as media and social networking) will strengthen communication and enhance expected utility. As the frequency of going to family medicine increased, complementary medicine application increased. This increase reflects the fact that patients are more concerned with their health and their search for solutions to their problems.
