Sociologial research on violence against women within the family

ABSTRACTThis master research thesis is composed of six parts and entitled `? ASociological Research on Violence Against Women Within the Family?? and containsan additional parts, which comprise international studies for preventing violencewithin the Family, and presents Turkish Grand Assembley (TBMM) negotiation textabout research on the ??custom murders (töre)`honour Killings? (namus cinayetleri) andon the domestic violence of children and females. The coverage of introduction is thefirst part of this research that emphasizes what our subject is, and for what purposewe chose this subject (that is purpose of this study) as well as what kind of material andmethods we used, and which limitations this research has.In the second part we defined theoretical the frame of this research. Then, weinvestigated the violence, varieties of violence, violence within the family, concept ofviolence against women. In the third part we scrutinized `?violence within the family??alone and also information was given for social source of ?violence within the family??and reasons for ?violence within the family?? and varieties of ?violence within thefamily?Women whose subjected the most domestic violence in the human being.Therefore, we examined them in a different statutes in the fourt part. In this respectswe investigated them as a mother, worker and their role in social alteration andpolitical life.In the fifth part we studied ?violence within the family?? and `?violence againstwomen?? in Turkey and the World. In this part we try to exhibit the extent of violenceagainst women in Turkey and the World. Here, also we tried to enlighten `?honourkillings?? that was one of different extent of violence within the family. We explainedthe violence against women in their physiological statutes. We gave information aboutwomen shelter house and consultation and cooperation, which was founded for helpingwomen whose were subject to violence within the family.In the sixth part we examined the perspective of Turkish justice for women.Here, we presented a justice summary, an example on violence against womenobatined from Balıkesir -Burhaniye Court of Justice. As a last in additional section wegave information about for preventing ?violence within the family?? in the internationallevel (CEDAW, Pekin+5 declaration) beside CEDAW country violance works reports.
