Problems faced by teachers working under the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye in leadership processes and their solution approaches

This study aims to examine the problems faced by teachers working under the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye in leadership processes and their solution approaches. The research method is based on the phenomenological design, which is one of the qualitative research methods. Data for the study were collected using a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher. The study group consists of a total of eight teachers (four female and four male) working in children's homes, child protection initial intervention and assessment units, and children's home sites in a province located in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. The data obtained from the study were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. The results of the study indicate that participants generally take on the role of household manager in the institutions where they work and are negatively affected while providing instructional leadership to children under protection who experience parental deprivation. The teachers who participated in the research reported that these children showed a lack of interest in educational activities. On the other hand, they stated that they closely attended to the children's needs, much like a parent would. Future studies could be conducted by using quantitative data collection tools such as surveys and scales, in addition to interviews with teachers within the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye.
