Abstract (EN)

126 ABSTRACT This research aims at revealing income management and consumption expenses of the families with various socio-economic levels. The data for this research were gathered from 314 families living at different districts of Ankara which have various socio-economic levels. Approximately half of the families, who were chosen as the subjects of this research, earn between 300.000.0001 and 600.000.000 Turkish Liras per month as their income, and more than the half of those families find their income inefficient. It has been realized that the higher the socio-economic level of the families is, the more their expenses for food, clothing, accommodation, transportation, communication, personal care, leisure time activities, and education increase. More than half of the families who were the respondents to the questionnaire of this research specified that purchase decisions were made by both husband and wife and they did shopping together. Most of the families specified that they carried out market research, and more than half ou the families prepare family budget. Furthermore according to the findings of this research, more than half of the families use credit cards and approximately all of the families who have low socio-economic status cannot save money because of inefficient income. On the other hand, more of the families who can same money usually invest their savings in foreign currency. tci$£*L*voıı
