In the research, the attitude and behaviors of the various socio-economic level of families towards water usage and factors affecting these are studied.The subsciptions bound to ASKİ generate the universe of the research. Because of impossibility of accessing this group in all, some quarters from three different economically accepted towns are selected coincidentally. The registered subscription addresses from ASKİ records are borrowed. The application is done by asking one-to-one questions to participants and by going addresses coincidentally. In total, 229 family samples are formed. Within this research, the scales of attitudes and behaviours directed towards water usage are applied to families. The correlation between the attitudes and behaviours are presented. The meaninfulness levels of diversenesses are put forward by making t-test, correlation analyses, variance analyses according to average scores of attitudes and behaviours directed towards water usage.As a result;1) The positive behaviours of the family directed towards water usage affects the attitudes of them in the affirmative way.2) When the educational level, income level, age and gender are taken as criteria; a significant difference in behaviours of water usage are not observed.3) The attitudes of women in comparison with men are more positive.4) Increase in educational level emaciates the water usage related attitudes.5) Increse in income level emaciates the water usage related attitudes.Some propositions are underlined based on the problems arised as a result of the research.Key Words: Water consumption, Attitudes and behavior, Consumer education, Family economy
