Abstract (EN)
This study was performed on 25 healthy controls and 100 patients who attended to the Department of Biochemistry, Dicle University Medical Faculty for Familial Mediterranean Fever(FMF) gene(MEFV) mutation analysis. After the result of genetic testing, 63 patients were grouped as FMF mutation positive, 37 patients were grouped as FMF mutation negative groups. Plasma osteopontin, serum hepcidin and serum amiloid A concentrations were determined in groups. Plasma osteopontin consantrations were found significantly higher in FMF mutation positive group than the control group (p<0,05). No significant difference were found in serum hepcidin and SAA consantrations between groups. As a result it can be considered that osteopontin may have a role in the inflammation of FMF.Key words: FMF, Osteopontin, Hepcidin
