The stainless steels are widely used due to their corrosion resistance, being suitable for different temperatures, easy forming and aesthetics view. In this thesis study, the AISI 304L material from the category of austenitic stainless steels which is widely used in welding process is examined. Welding samples are taken from the AISI 304L materials which were welded by TIG and MIG welding types and are used for study of their mechanical and microstructural properties.The studies were done with different parameters. The surface morphology in MIG type welded samples and in TIG type welded samples, welding section and bottom surface of welding section is examined respectively with an electron microscope. Moreover, by the help of tests such as Vickers micro hardness and tensile strength on MIG samples and tensile strength test on TIG samples, mechanical properties of welded area samples are compared. In the end of studies, it has been found that mechanical properties and micro structures of TIG and MIG welded samples differs according to the parameters.
