Abstract (EN)
AISI 4140 steel, which is found in tempered steels, has a high hardness due to the amount of carbon it contains in its compound. In addition, it is one of the steels that has a better tensile strength than other steels and is suitable for hardening by reclamation. When the areas where these steels with high hardness values are used, it is seen that they are used in automobiles, aircraft construction, agricultural machinery, machine tools and machine parts, which need to have high ductility such as crankshaft, axle shaft, barrel. Today, one of the biggest obstacles in the use of this steel is the wear of the surface in contact and material loss will occur due to the layer shielded from the surface due to abrasion and the machine element will become unusable. For this reason, various heat treatments are applied to this steel surface in order to increase both wear resistance and improve strength values. With the results of the work obtained with technological developments and various methods, it tries to improve the surface properties and to offer an efficient use. In order to further improve the surface properties of materials, vacuum coating techniques obtained as a result of developments in vacuum technologies are an alternative method. Of these methods, physical vapor coating methods are widely used in industry. In this study, it will be tried to increase the hardness, tribological and abrasion resistance of AISI 4140 steel, which has a wide range of uses, by forming a thin film on the surface with the physical vapor deposition method used for many years. In this study, AlTiCrSiN, TiCrN and CrN coatings were applied on AISI 4140 steel and the friction properties, tribological properties and wear resistance of these coatings were evaluated through related experiments.
