Abstract (EN)

Today, with the rapid increase in population and technological developments, our energy needs are increasing. When it comes to energy, the first thing that comes to mind is electrical energy. Nuclear Power Plants (NGS) are an important potential for electric power generation in recent years. Within the scope of this study, thermoeconomic analysis was carried out for Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (ANGS), the first nuclear power plant of our country. As a result of the analysis, it is aimed to reduce the cost of energy production by converting the heat released to the environment into useful heat as per the NPP operating principle, and to prevent thermal pollution at the same time. Thermodynamic analysis was carried out in the Engineering Equation Solver (EES) program using equipment values equivalent to Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. Cost analysis was carried out using the most widely used specific exergy costing (SPECO) method, which is based on the second law of thermodynamics. As a result of the study, the energy and exergy efficiencies of ANGS were found to be 35% and 68%, respectively. By indirectly regaining the heat from the facility, it can be used in district heating (heating, hot water needs of the lodgings, guesthouses in the facility), greenhouse heating, agricultural drying and cooling, taking into account the geographical conditions and livelihood of the region. Thus, 67.99% of waste heat was utilized, the unit cost of the energy produced was reduced and at the same time thermal pollution was prevented at the same rate.
