Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the motivational climate created by peers and coaches on the perception of success, satisfaction of psychological needs, subjective well-being and intrinsic motivation levels of young football players between the ages of 14-16. 222 (Mage =15.07; SD=.78) male football players who played in 7 different teams participated in the study. Perceived Motivational Climate, Peer Created Motivational Climate, Perception of Success Questionnaires, Sport Motivation, Basic Psychological Needs and Subjective Vitality Scales were used. As a result of MANOVA, the ego subscale was determined by the perception of success-ego (p=.001;η2=.72), need satisfaction-autonomy (p=.005;η2=.69), need satisfaction-competence (p=.046, η2=, 51) and need satisfaction-relatedness (p=.001;η2=.63) subscales, it was found to have a significant and high effect size. In the first stage of the Hierarchical Regression Analysis, the peer motivation-competition variable explained the variance in the perception of success-ego variable at the highest level, with 14%. Secondly, peer motivation- development was included in the analysis, the explained variance was 16%, and then the task subscale of coach motivation was included in the analysis, the explained variance increased to 19%. As a result of Moderator Variable Analysis, it was seen that only the model in which the relationship between the ego subscale of the coach motivational climate and the task subscale of the Perception of Success Scale was moderated by the Need Satisfaction-relatedness was significant (∆R2=.025;F(1.213)=5, 8606;p<.05). As a result of the study, it was found that the content of the motivational climate created by the coaches and peers has an effect on the psychological variables of the athletes, while the peer effect has a higher effect than the motivational climate created by the coach.
