Abstract (EN)
Within the content of the thesis, the artist Berna Erkun made in 2015; wet surface cleaning was carried out by using the up-to-date computer software Modular Cleaning Program of the acrylic painting "Rota-Abstract Landscape". In this context, it has been tried to underline the contemporary and modern art period with which the work is related and the technique and different paint type used by the artist, acrylic paint. At the same point, new perspectives and methods about surface cleaning, which is an important factor in painting conservation and restoration methods, have been researched specifically for acrylic paint. As a result of the research, the wet surface cleaning method was preferred for the work in question and this cleaning method was applied in 8 different areas determined on the surface of the painting. The effect of the preferred wet surface cleaning on the acrylic painting was compared with laboratory analyzes before and after.
