Abstract (EN)

In this study, composite polymer be adssuch as chitosan, amberlite (XAD7) –chitosan and pumice-chitosan were studied for the preconcentration of cadmium. Firstly, it was decided which composite adsorbent to be used as preconcentration column filling material by batch method. According to the adsorption and desorption studies, the highest adsorption and desorption efficiency were obtained by using pumice-chitosan beads (Adsorption: 83.4%; desorption: 80.6%). Mini column prepared for the flow injection system was filled with pumice-chitosan composite beads and combined with flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer for cadmium preconcentration. The effects of parameters such as sample loading time, eluent type and concentration, flow rate, pH were investigated for optimum condition of cadmium and optimum conditions were obtained. In addition, interference effect of other ions were also investigated. Calibration curve was drown for the cadmium determination of at optimum conditions. The limit of dedection (LOD) was calculated as 0.0016 mg / L. In addition, SEM image of the sorbent for proposed method characterization were obtained of adsorbents. As a result, a new preconcentration method has been developed for the determination of cadmium.
