Lipid profile and natural anticoagulants in acute miyocardial infarction

8-SUMMARY LIPID PROFILE AND NATURAL ANTICOAGULANTS İN ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION In the studies carried out recently.it has been reported that lipoprotein (a) and fibrinogen levels in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) increase significantly. In our study, we aimed to identify the changes in lipoprotein (a), fibrinogen, protein C.protein S.antitrombin llland other lipid profile indicators in AMI cases and to bring forth whether there exist significant relationships between them. Forty five patients who were admitted to the clinic of Cardiology.Medical Faculty.DicIe University with the diagnosis of AMI were included in the study.The results were compared with the values in the control group involving 20 healty subjects. Lipoprotein (a) levels in patients group (27.9±4.8)were found to be significantly higher in respect to those (20.4±1.27) in the control group.(p<0.001) Total cholesterol, LDL-C and total trigliserid levels in patients' group were remarcably higher when compared to those in the control group.while HDL-C levels in patients' group (33.9 ±10.18) were found to be significantly lower than those (45.6 ±12.83) in the control group (p<0.001) Protein C and Protein S in the patients' group (71.3±17.24; 102.3±20.2) were found to be significantly lower than those (109.1±5.2; 125.6±7.7) in the control group.(p<0.001) Between patients'group and control group.no difference was determined from the view-point of antitrombin III levels. Fibrinogen levels in patients' group (549.2±212.85) were higher in respect to those (320.8±48.2) for the control group.(p<0.001) 45
