Abstract (EN)

The aim of the present study was to determine the amount of persistent organic pollutants, PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) 28, 52, 101, 118, 153, 138, 180, total HCH (Hexachlor Cyclohexane), total HCB (Hexachlorobenzene) and total DDT (dichloro trichloroethane diphenol), in the caught blue crabs? (Callinectes sapidus) muscle tissues from Akyatan Lagoon. Study was conducted with 50 samples. Amounts of pollutants were investigated in the ppb level in 1 g muscle tissue. As a result of evaluation organic pollutant contaminant was determined in all samples analyzed. The highest contaminant level was identified for PCB derivatives. Residue levels were determined quantitatively by using GC-ECD and compared with acceptable contaminant levels. As a result of assessment ratios of persistent organic pollutant were determined, ?- BHC 36%, ß- BHC 2%, ?- BHC 10%, HCB 14%, ? BHC 40%, o,p?- DDE 56%, p,p?- DDE 12%, o,p?- DDT 24%, p,p?- DDT 34%, ? DDT 40%, PCB28 72%, PCB52 70%, PCB101 54%, PCB118 40%, PCB138 2%, PCB153 28%, PCB180 56%, respectively.
