Abstract (EN)

Investigation of the remains of fluoroquinolone antibiotic enrofloxacin during pre-harvest and harvest period in edible tissue samples of trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Enrofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used in treatments of various bacterial diseases. In this study, residue levels of enrofloxacin were investigated in edible tissues (skin, muscle and liver) of trout. During the preharvest period 25 samples and harvest period 25 samples of trout, total of 50 samples were collected in the province of Elazig from five different trout facilites. Levels of enrofloxacin in samples were analyzed by high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC). As a result of analyzes, remain of enrofloxacin of preharvest period in all tissues range 3-10935 ng/g tissue were determined. During harvest period of trout, residue levels were determined in four trout facilities range of 0-8171 ng/g tissue but one trout facility was not determined. When compared the means of residue levels in facilities, preharvest period residue levels were higher than harvest period but no statistical significance differences between groups (p>0.05). When edible tissues compared among them, it was determined highest residues in skin tissue; muscle and liver tissue close to each other (p<0.05). It was determined that natural residue levels in skin+muscle tissues were above the limit of 17 out of 25 trout samples during harvest period. Consequently, we concluded that all facilities use enrofloxacin at different time intervals especially in the preharvest period. During harvest period it was determined 68% of residues were above the maximum residue limits. Key Words: Enrofloxacin, trout, residue, HPLC
