Geological geochemical and genesis examination of Alanya (Antalya) barites

Abstract (EN)

There are various researches and studies carried out in terms of raw materials and mineral deposits in the field of industry and mining related to the Antalya region. In this study, which was carried out within the scope of the thesis, it was aimed to determine and interpret the bedding and formations, the conditions and factors affecting their formation, as well as the geochemical, originary and geological characteristics of the barites found in the region. Mineralogical and geological studies were carried out on the samples of barites in the Alanya (Antalya) region, the data obtained were evaluated, and the information obtained from the field was used to interpret the formation, environmental conditions and origins of the barites in the region. Chemical analyzes of the samples taken from barite and country rocks were made, statistical tables were created with the data obtained, statistical data were obtained by making comparisons of the samples. "Yigit-I", "Kızıltas", "Efe" barite quarries in the Alanya (Antalya) region and the barites found in their surroundings have been interpreted geologically, geochemically and originally. In the thesis study, three different furnaces were examined. The barites that are the subject of the study are located in the Alanya massif. The barites that are the subject of the study are located in the Alanya massif. It is known that the formation of barite deposits in the region is of Paleozoic age and took place in the Late Cambrian-Early Ordovician period. Barite ores are mostly observed in calcschist levels in the formation. It is found in the form of veins, veinlets and filons in quartz, dolomite and limestones. It has been determined that its thicknesses range from centimeter to 2-6 meters in thickness and up to 20-100 meters in length. According to the chemical analyzes made on barite samples, in XRD diagrams; It was observed that barite (98-100%) are the main minerals, and according to the XRF analysis results, the samples taken from the country rocks have a high barium ratio and rocks with high calcite and silica density. It has been determined that minerals such as calcite, quartz, pyrite, etc., join the combination towards the lower parts of the mineralizations. According to scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis, values of Fe, O, Na, Mg, Al, Si, S, K, Sr elements are seen together with Ba. The same peaks were observed with the barite guide spectrum of the samples by FT-IR analysis. In the analysis of fluid inclusions, no measurable fluid inclusions were found in all examinations of the samples (since the inclusions are mostly of insufficient size and generally mobile). Main oxide, trace and rare earth element analysis data, diagrams and statistical data were created and interpreted. The 87Sr/ 86Sr isotope analysis results are between %0.709967-0.711759 and represent the marine and fluvial environment in origin and show that barites are formed under hydrothermal environment conditions. Trace element and mineral contents of barites in the region, superficial deposit, 87Sr/ 86Sr isotope analysis, fluid inclusion analyzes and diagrams are important points in determining the settlement. The barites in the study area are located in the form of phyllones and veins in the dolomite and calcite found in the country rocks, and the liquid inclusions are too low to be measured, which shows low salinity and the 87Sr/86Sr isotope values between 0.70-0.71 reflect the hydrothermal formation environment. In all of the general geological maps and stratigraphic sections to which the study area belongs, barite ores are located within the Paleozoic aged marble, as well as limestone and dolomite units.
