Abstract (EN)

A calendar is the cluster of time, reducing it to year, month, day and hour. Since the ancient time, humanity has searched for same beginning and endings over timr in order to maintain their lives more comfortably in every period, and also made weather forecast by looking at animals, plants and celestial bodies to protect and to beware of bad weather conditions. Depending on this situation, they preserved important events, wars, natürel disasters perceptibly and abstractly in different ways, and they have developed timetable and weather forecast methods in various periods. Every society has different determining factors in time segmentation and weather forecasts. Among these elements thegeography and livelihoods of that society are effective. Unlike other calendars in the Anatoliaan and Turkish world, the public calendar is a calendar based on the local knowledge of the people. In this study titled "Public Calendar, Calendar Applications and Public Meteorology, in Alanya, it has been evaluated with in the frame work of the physical and cultural geography of the region, with the calendar applications that are obtained from the local people, as a result of long experiences and transferred from generation to generation. Which is still used today. Compiling the useful weather forecasts. The findings obtained are presented. Keywords: Date, Temperature, Calendar, Public Calendar, Public Meteorology
