Restoration and conservation applications of coins found in the Alanya Ottoman wink excavation

Restoration and conservation practices are undoubtedly the most important stage in cultural heritage works, especially in order to ensure that the works that have been corroded for hundreds of years underwater can be adapted to the present day and transferred to future generations. For this reason, answers to questions such as how far the Ottoman maritime trade progressed, how restoration and conservation processes were applied on the coins found during the study in the Ottoman Shipwreck, what the conservation and repair methods were used on the coins found in shipwrecks around the world, and which civilizations the Alanya region hosted, will be reached. With the applied studies carried out in the study, the conservation and repair practices of a group of coins found in the Ottoman Period Shipwreck were carried out and the stages were explained. With the application studies carried out at the Antalya Restoration and Conservation Regional Laboratory, desalination of the works and restoration practices suitable for the works were continued. Thus, the need for the works was determined and the works were put into the conservation phase with minimal intervention as necessary. The application stages are shown step by step in the study and it is aimed to be a suitable guide for future generations.
