Investigation of the compatibility of different coloured effetre and borosilicate glasses used in flame glass forming

Glass is found in many areas of our lives under different conditions. Glass, which has existed from the past to the present, offers us many opportunities in the field of art. Within the scope of glass shaping techniques, flame glass shaping is one of them. This study includes literature researches, information and personal experiments on the harmony of different coloured effetre and borosilicate glasses used in flame glass shaping. In the first part of this research; information about the purpose, scope and method of the study is given. In the second chapter; the definition, chemical structure and history of glass are mentioned. In the third chapter; glass forming techniques are explained. In the fourth chapter; the history of flame glass forming technique, advantages, glass usage, comparison of soft and hard glasses used, information about the glasses used and their chemical structures are given. In the fifth chapter; examples of glass artists working using the flame glass forming technique are given. In the sixth chapter; within the scope of the colours used within the scope of the thesis, compatibility experiments between effetre glasses, compatibility experiments between borosilicate glasses, compatibility experiments between effetre and borosilicate glasses were made. Personal applications and conclusion section are included.
