History and religious origin of mythological elements in Alevii and Bektashi beliefs

Abstract (EN)

Alevism and Bektashism date back to ancient times. Therefore, it contains many mythological elements. First of all, I will give information about the history of Alevism and Bektashism and explain their development processes. The spread of Alevism in Anatolia, the use of the term "Kızılbaş" and why Alevis are called Kızılbaş are explained. By giving information about Alevism from the Ottoman period to the present, I will touch on the historical and religious origins of the mythological elements in Alevism. In addition, the emergence of Bektashism in Anada and its relationship with Ahmet Yesevi were mentioned, and information was given about the services of my Balım Sultan, who is accepted as the second founder of Bektashism, in Bektashism. In the last part, the important elements of Alevism and Bektashism mythology: Creation, Crane, Hızır, Deer, Aslan, Ocak Zülfikar, Hz. Ali and Savaş, Nevruz, Birth and finally Numbers were examined and information was given about their contributions to Anatolian culture. Traces of old Turkish beliefs are also seen in the formation of Alevi-Bektashi mythology in Anatolia. It carries the traces of rituals that take place in many Shamanic and old Turkish beliefs in the Alevi-Bektashi mythology in Anatolia.
