The effect of perceived servant leadership on the state of presenteeism

Due to the changes taking place today, competition between knitting organizations is quite high. In this competitive environment, the main purpose of organizations is to make profits. However, organizations also have many purposes such as providing continuity and social benefit. The most important element for organizations to achieve these goals is the human factor. Employee productivity and performance are very important for the organization's adequate performance. The attitudes and behaviors exhibited by the organizational leader can affect the productivity and performance of employees. The main purpose of this study is to determine the effect of "servant leadership", which puts the wishes and needs of employees first and prioritizes its employees, on "being absent from work" and coming to work even though the employee's health condition is not suitable for coming to work. In this context, an empirical study was conducted with private sector employees. Firstly, a literature review was conducted regarding the concepts discussed in the study. Data was obtained using the survey technique. "servant leadership scale" and "presentence scale" were used to create the survey. In the research, data was collected from 400 private sector employees. Correlation and regression analyzes were performed in line with the data obtained. As a result of the correlation analysis, a positive relationship was found between presenteeism and perceived servant leadership. As a result of the regression analysis, it is seen that the empowerment dimension, which is the sub-dimension of servant leadership, affects presenteeism positively and significantly, while the forgiveness dimension affects it negatively and significantly.
