Investigation of the effect of algorithm and programming education on the Computational Thinking and Creative Thinking skills of secondary school students

The aim of this thesis study is that secondary school students receive algorithm and programming education for a certain period of time; measurement of computational thinking and creative thinking skills. Computational thinking skills are among the most important skills of our day and future. Programming education, especially algorithm education, is of great importance in gaining this skill. computational thinking; It includes problem solving, designing systems, making sense of human behavior, and realizing using the basic concepts of computer science. computational thinking; It is a whole that includes the ability to solve big and difficult problems easily, to separate the focal points by repetitive thinking, abstraction and analysis, to describe the behavior of the system using invariants, to think like a computer scientist and to think about abstractions at multiple levels. It is seen that students have difficulty in making sense of these subjects in algorithms and basic programming. Because programming ability and mathematics show parallelism. The student who is successful in the mathematics course also seems to have high programming skills. In this thesis, it is also aimed to measure the problem solving skill within the computational thinking skill. In addition, the other purpose of this thesis study; Do the scores of the programming and algorithm training given for a certain period of time on the computational thinking and creative thinking scale show an understandable difference in the post-tests compared to the pre-tests?
