A research on the life and works of Ali Süha Delilbaşı

Ali Süha, who was one of the people signed the declaration being published by Fecr-i Âti community, is known with his short stories and prose poetry he wrote. His literary journey began after 1908 when he published his works in the genres such as prose poetry short story and critical review in various periodical publications such as Musavver Muhit, Resimli Kitap, Şiir ve Tefekkür, Servet-i Fünûn, Musavver Kadın, Kanat ve Aşiyan, and continued in novel, theatrical production, translation and dictionary works. In order to reach more information about the period, it is important to reveal and analyze the works of Ali Süha Delilbaşı published under the influence of Servet-i Fünûn and Fecri Âtî Community in different journals in the Second Constitutional Era when, in terms of the history of Turkish literature, the most newspapers and magazines were published, and many writers and poets were in different literary formations. In this study, a meticulous literature research about the life and works of Ali Süha Delilbaşı has been done and it goes beyond the encyclopedic information. In the first chapter, his life is explained in a chronological order and it is told that how his daily life formed his literary world. In the second part, novels, theatre plays, short stories, prose poems, critical reviews and other works by Ali Süha Delilbaşı are analyzed under separate titles. On the basis of his works, his relationship with the literary tendency of his era are represented. In the conclusion part of the study, obtained data is associated with each other and status of the life and works of Ali Süha Delilbaşı in the history of Turkish literature are determined.
