Abstract (EN)
Adhesives are materials which have very important place for our lives. Bioadhesives, important class among general adhesives, are fairly intensive used in medical applications. Therefore, the aim of our study is synthesis and characterization of biocompatible polyurethanes using aliphatic isocyanates (hexamethylene diisocyanate and 4,4'-diisocyanodicyclohexylmethane), saccharide-based polyols (xylose, maltose, sucrose, starch, guar) and polyethylene glycols (PEG). Synthesized polyurethanes were examined by FTIR, TGA, DTA, DSC, elemental analysis and contact angle of water in terms of structure. The contact angles of water synthesized polyurethanes were found changes depend on saccharide ratio and type in polyurethane structure. In addition, adhesion strength test was performed for synthesized polyurethanes and the highest adhesion strengh was measured as 415±48.8 kPa for NPU-PEG-X. In biodegradability tests, the highest degredability was belong to NPU-PEG-S at the end of 8 weeks and the ratio was around 30%. Also, in the protein adsorpsion tests, all polymers showed at low protein adsorption values, generally. All polymers showed at high cell viability with the value of around 90% on RAOEC cells in in vitro biocompatibilty test. Consequently, the polyurethane adhesives were developed with high adhesion strength, biodegredable and in vitro biocompatible properties.
