Abstract (EN)

In the study titled Main Themes in Aliya Izzetbegovic's Philosophy of Religion and Politics, Aliya's life, geography and world of ideas are discussed. Initially the study deals with Aliya's life and works, and then Aliya Izzetbegovic's perspective on philosophy is analyzed. In the later parts of the study, Aliya as a Westerner with an Eastern thought, his proposed solutions to the problems faced by the Islamic world are addressed. The terms of equality, freedom and justice in which is a foundation of the Aliya's life were used as a framework to explain to the society of Bosnia and Herzegovina that Islam is the salvation path. He conveyed the messages to his society that they should benefit from the ideas and mindset of the West; and the beliefs and morals of the East. The idea of Aliya's criticizing the attribution of everything that happens in Muslim countries to Islam and that when we understand Islam correctly, all of the issues mentioned do not contradict human life, has been discussed. Lastly, it has been emphasized that Muslims should always preserve their unity and solidarity as it is the starting point of the Islamic World.
