Alkame b. Kays en-Nehaî and his place in hadith science

The subject of our thesis is Alkame b. Kays and his role in hadith scholarship. Our thesis is composed of a prologue and two main chapters. In the prologue we studied Kufe's geographical, social, cultural and political structre in which he get his learning. In the fırst main chapter we studied Alkame b. Kays's life and his scientific personality. We convicted that he's arbiter in tefsir, fıkh and science of kıraat as well in hadith scholarship. In the second main chapter, we studied Alkame b. Kays's role in hadith scholarship. Here we studied his hadith knowledge, hadith education, his journeys for hadith, number of hadiths he got from his masters, his most important masters, the sigas he used those shows how he got the hadiths from his masters, his hadith teaching and the number of hadiths that his students got from him, his most important students, lifes of his masters and students, in which subjects his hadiths centered. Distribution of his hadiths as to layers, Kufe's hadith scholarship in first century, and finally Alkame's role in Kufe's hadith scholarship and his mentality in Sunnah.
