Özet (EN)
The goal of this research is to examine the relations that are between depression and features that are attributed to God Experimental group of research includes 152 person that are selected from Dokuz Eylül Uversity Theology Faculty and Ege University Literature Faculty Sociology Department. Age interval of this group is between 17 and 36. In this study, Bioraphic inventory that include 15 questions, Spilka Allport Attitude measure, Spilka measure, Beck Depression invetory are used as data collecting tool, and these results are obtained, as follows: It'is obsorved that these inventories have the reliability to be used in other researches. The students of theology department have higher points than the Sociology department has for the Spilka Allport attitude measure and also have intrinsic and commited belief. [F (1,150)= 1663517; p< 0,05] The students of theology department have higher points than the sociology department has for the Spilka measure. It means that, the students of theology department regard God optimistically and they define him with features which are more positive and which include superiority. However, the students of sociology department regard God pessimistically and they define him with negative features. [F (1,150)= 41,1282; p< 0,05] According, to average score. Beck depression inventory, there is no significant difference between sociology and theology department statistically.[F (3,148)= 1,0421; p>0,05] Accorting to their average scores, in concept of God and definition of God there is no difference between students who demonstrate depressive symptoms and students who do not demonstrate depressive symptoms. Thus, the scores which both groups of students got while they defined god, did not reach a statistically meaningful level. In other words, according to the research results, a hypothesis as depressive ones regard God in a negative way and the ones who are not depressive regard God in a positive way, is not supported
