The relationship between social skills an attachment in six years old children

A bide G Ü N G Ö R -AYTARNovember-2006The purpose of this study is to determine the significant difference andrelationship between social skills level and attachment in six years old children whoare attending pre-school classes. The sample of this study was 110 (56 boys and 54girls) six years o ld children w ho selected by rando m fro m elem entary scho o ls?preschool classes in M u ş. ?Ind iv idual Info rm atio n F o rm ?, ?C assid y IncompleteS tories w ith D o ll F am ily?, and ?S o cial S k ills R ating S ystem E lem entary T eacherF o rm ? used fo r co llecting this stud y?s datas. O btained data have been analyzed b yusing percentage, one way ANOVA, Scheffe test and Pearson momentler correlationcoefficient.The results of the study revealed that there were middle level positivesignificant correlation between attachment security and both social skills andsubscales of social skills as cooperation, assertion and self-control. No significantdifferences were found between social skills and gender, parental education status.On the other hand, significant differences were found between socio-economic statusand social skills level. Nevertheless, no significant differences were found betweenattachment and gender but significant differences were found between attachmentand both parental education status and socio-economic status. In addition, significantdifferences were determined between attachment security and social skills depend onchildren?s dem o graphic variables as gender and so cio -economic status.
