Comparative phonetics and morphology of Altai Turkish and Turkey Turkish

Altai Turkish is language of Altaic Turks, living in the foothills of the Altai Mountains in southern Siberia. Altai Turkish, which is shown in classification of Turkish dialects among the North / South Siberia Turkish dialects, is one of the most distant relatives of Turkey Turkish as temporal and spatial. Although the origins of both the Turkish language based on old Turkish, grammatical differences formed between the Altai Turkish and Turkey Turkish because of intralinguistic and ekstralinguistical factor. Phonetics and morphological differences between the Altai Turkish and Turkey Turkish is based on two basic reasons. Both the Turkish language has gone through the different intralinguistic process in historically; This has resulted in the preservation of some of the features of the old Turkish origin in a dialect while disappearing other one. Another reason for the differences of Altai Turkish and Turkey Turkish stems from its relationship with other languages throughout history. Mongolian and Russian elements in Altai Turkish and Arabic and Persian elements in Turkey Turkish are an important part of the differences. In particular, because the most of the Altai Turks are bilingual (Altai Turkish and Russian), Russian influence in the Altai Turkish is reach to structural dimension. In this study, phonetics and morphological differences between the Altai Turkish and Turkey Turkish will be discussed. In the first part of the study, consisting of two main sections except for introduction and conclusion sections, phonetics differences were examined in two sub-titles simultaneously and diachronically. In the second part bearing the title morphological differences, differences of vocabulary building and word types between the Altai Turkish and Turkey Turkish were discussed in two sub-titles. In the study, despite focusing on Altai Turkish, it was pointed to factor which is in Altai Turkish, is not in Turkey Turkish and it is in Turkey Turkish, is not in Altai Turkish.
