Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to evaluate the perceptions of the establishment of a botanical garden in the district of Gümüşova and the existing potential in the region with the opinions of the respondents. In this context, qualitative research methodology has been used in the study and the data have been obtained by semi-structured interview technique. The questionnaire arranged within the scope of qualitative research have been composed of 15 interview questions. A total of 15 questions in the questionnaire arranged within the scope of qualitative research has been asked to the sample of the study consisted of 19 respondents, including 10 local governmental units, 3 academics and 6 local people. As a result of the interview, the qualitative data obtained from the respondents have been subjected to descriptive analysis, and the respondents' opinions written down on the paper have been used by coding in a manner that the researcher can easily understand. According to the results obtained from the data gathered from this research, the views of the repondents in general were positive in terms of the establishment of a botanical garden in accordance with the title "Stakeholder Views on the Establishment of a Botanical Garden in the Context of Botanical Tourism as an Alternative Tourism Type: Gümüşova Example". It has also been stated that Gumusova has a great potential in all aspects but detailed landsacping must be done before the establishment of the botanical garden. A group of participants who think that they do not have the appropriate potential due to their particular characteristics have presented ideas for the installation of the garden to carry the appropriate potential of the region. Within the scope of these ideas and suggestions, the followings are offered; raising awareness of the public about the place of botanical gardens in botanical tourism; in addition to this research in which the qualitative research methodology was used and being able to find out a new research subject by comparing these two studies. There are also some suggestions that the local governmental units and academicians can come together to work in harmony and in this context they can carry out joint studies on botanical gardens and various academic studies can be conducted to bring Gümüşova in the literature on tourism.
