Determination of some soil properties after fire: A case study Altinkaya dam basin

The Forest fires are theleading threats that threaten the continuity of our forests in our country as it is the same in many countries of the world.Our country should be more careful especially in summer drought due to its location in the Mediterranean climate zone.Forests face a variety of threats brought by many biotic and abiotic factors. In this study, the effects of the fire on the physical and chemical properties of the soil of different stands types were investigated in the Akçay Forest Management Administration of Vezirköprü Forest Management Directorate. A total of 36 sampling points were determined, including 8 sampling points from areas exposed to fire and 4 sampling points from control parsels for each type of stand (Çza, Çzab3 and Çzc3). A total of 324 soil samples were collected in 3 replicates each of which was from 3 different depths (0-10 cm, 10-20 cm and 20-40 cm) of the sampling point. Texture, organic matter, pH and electrical conductivity (EC) were carried out on soil samples taken from the research area.The obtained data were compared with variance analysis methods, differences and relations have been researched. Differences in statistical significance were determined in the study.
