THESIS SUBJECT: CAME TO AMASYA STATE HOSPITAL INTERNAL MEDICINEPOLICLINICS PATIENTS? NUTRITIONAL HABITS FIND OUT THE EFFECT OF THECHANGES LEVELS ON THE BLOOD LIPID PROFILES.NAME SURNAME OF STUDENT: HİCRAN KÖREMEZLİNAME SURNAME OF THESIS ADVISER: Ph. D. AYSEL BEYHAN ÖKTEMDEPARTMENT: FOOD ANALYSES AND NUTRITIONYEAR: 2007STATUS: MASTER OF SCIENCE THESISThis study is designed on 86 female who came to Amasya StateHospital Internal Medicine Policlinics and accepted to join the search. Thesubjects were at least 20 years old, had lipid profiles at very high, high andnormal levels.This study aims to search the nutritional status of the hiperlipidemicsubjects, to support the blood findings with anthropometric and biochemicalparameters, and to find out the effect of the changes in nutritional habits andlevels on the blood lipid profiles.A questionnaire was applied in order to get the general informations ofthe subjects. When the subjects first came, they reported the first week andthey were called for the third and the fifth weeks later. Blood samples werecollected at the end of the 8 hours fasting. Blood lipid profiles (cholesterol,triglyceride, LDL, VLDL, HDL) and blood sugar profiles were studied.Tanita measurements, waist circumferences and hip circumferenceswere measured suitable fort he techniques. Energy requirements of thesubjects were calculated with the Schofield Equation based on the basalmetabolic rate gotten from tanita.The changes in subjects? dietary components were statistically foundsignificant (p<0,001).THESIS SUBJECT: CAME TO AMASYA STATE HOSPITAL INTERNAL MEDICINEPOLICLINICS PATIENTS? AYSEL BEYHAN ÖKTEMDEPARTMENT: FOOD ANALYSES AND NUTRITIONYEAR: 2007STATUS: MASTER OF SCIENCE THESISThe changes in subjects?anthropometric measurements at 1.3.5.weekswere statistically significant and in addition a decrease in these measurementswere observed at 5. week .The changes in subjects?blood measurements at 1.3.5.weeks totalcholesterol (192,6 ± 42,7 * 177,8 ± 32,2b * 167,8 ± 31,0c), LDL (112,9 ± 41,2a*102,3 ± 33,4b * 94,8 ± 30,3c), HDL (46,0±8,1a * 48,3±9,7b * 49,0 ± 9,0b),trigliserit (163,2 ± 97 *1135,0 ± 82,01* 38,3 ± 142,9) and fasting blood glucose(100 ± 24- * 109 ± 99- * 96 ± 13,0-) were different.Significant decreases were observed respectively p< 0,001 incholesterol, p< 0,005 in LDL, p<0,005 in TGS; but a significant increase wasobserved in HDL (p<0,001). Also the difference in fasting blood glucosebetween weeks were not statistically significant.To sum up; satistically significant changes on blood lipid profiles wereobserved by giving information about nutritional orders and compositions toobese individuals and make them consume foods containing low fat and lowenergy consciously, hindering to get more energy from daily requirement andgiving them a healty life conscious with losing weight.Key Words : Blood Lipid Profiles, Nutritional Habits, Hyperlipidemia
