Özet (EN)

The architectural form and the decorations of the constructions clearly reflects the culture, social changes and the estetic feelings of the various societies. Eventhough the penwork is one of the most critical and important component of construction design, so far no one has done the necessary in detail research about it. As a result of this, it has started to disapear. Because the pen work design has usually worked on plastered or wooden surfaces, they have been destrueted so easily by several reasons in time. So that, these decorations could not survive to the present. The thesis named "The Pen Worked Decorations in Amasya" is intended to enlighten the numerous hidden and many others which are about to be vanished pen worked decorations of the constructions. And put them back into their place in our history of art. Every small pieces of a work which has even a slight touch of art should be transfered to future as a great treasure. It's commonly possible to find some pen worked design on plenty of architectural works coming from the are of Ottoman in Amasya such as, Amasya, Merzifon Abide Sultan Mosque, Kara Mustafa Pasa Mosque Fountain, the mosque of the village of Baraklı Amasya and The Darphane Mosque. After doing all the research on sixteen different works of art including the onesjust mentioned above, we believe that the Turkish history of art can gain some more motifs that contains vegetal and geometrical characters, figures, patterns and various of compositions. There has been some structural restorations made as well as design restorations of the works of art in Amasya which has had some catastrophic events such as eartquake, fire and flood so far. Some of the patterns of 182design which could keep their existence into the present are now facing to some dangers such as ; unconscious restoration, natural dangers, and still trying to keep their existences. All of these reasons make the subject more valuable, interesting and worth working and spending time on it
