A qualitative study on determining amasya city common areas as recreational areas

This study aims to examine the parks, fields, walking and cycling tracks in the city center of Amasya. For this purpose, the thesis study was carried out by examining the usage status and current numbers of the park, field, walking and bicycle tracks in the neighborhood. In addition, the management's perspective on recreation, the examples they have applied and the use of these areas by the public have been examined. The research is in the case study model, which is a pattern of the qualitative research method. During work; Satellite images, internet documents, articles, journals and theses were examined and on-site investigations were made for the current conditions of the spaces. As a matter of fact, it has been examined how suitable the parks in Amasya are for the planning and need criteria in terms of sportive recreation, examples of urban parks are given and the deficiencies of these areas are revealed. As a result of the analysis of the obtained data: It has been observed that some sports equipment are neglected and broken. In addition, some of the playgrounds for the age group for children are unpainted and unmaintained, which will cause problems for children to use. It has been observed that the materials used in the parks are worn and deformed depending on time, weather conditions and use. As a result of the research, some deficiencies and improvements that should be made are presented as suggestions. Diversification of tools and maintenance of these tools should be made to serve the purpose by increasing their use. User safety should be increased by maintaining the sports fields in the parks. The deformations of the bicycle paths due to usage should be eliminated, especially the sign lights etc. that will increase the driving safety at night. supported by materials. Ease of use and accessibility should be supported by determining trekking routes. In addition, the use of the parks for the purpose of meeting the needs and spending time, resting and entertainment has increased through the enterprises located in the parks. In addition to activities such as cycling and walking, it has been determined that all these are used as a resting place to relieve fatigue at the end of the day. ; It has been determined that the parks have gained functionality as places used by everyone, especially young, old, women and men, as well as children, and have been made available for use at all times by making them suitable for day and night use.
