Abstract (EN)
Tomato is one of the most important vegetable in the world and Turkey. Especially Antalya province has been producing more than 60% of winter tomato production alone in Turkey. There are very serious biotic diseases that limit the production of tomatoes in this intensive production area. One of the major diseases that restrict the production of tomato is soil-borne Fusarium diseases. The aims of this study were to investigate the effect of virulent Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici (FOL) and Fusarium oxysporum f.sp radicis-lycopersici (FORL) with inoculating 20 tomato lines obtained from Tomato Genetic Resources Center (TGRC) and to determine phenotypic reactions of these lines. From these tested 20 tomato lines, only LA3473 (S. lycopersicum) plants were affected by FORL 12 strain and these infected plants completely died 21 days after inoculation in pathogenicity tests. None of the tested 20 lines has been found to be susceptible to FOL 14 isolate in the pathogenicity studies. In this way, it was found that all the tested lines except for LA3473 line were resistant to virulent Turkish FORL 12 and FOL 14 isolates were found Antalya tomato production areas. By using these resistant lines as rootstocks and by characterizing their genetic resistance will be allowed us to control Fusarium diseases. For the first time in this study, local Fusarium isolates were tested against internationally known tomato lines.
