Prof. Dr Erhan AKÇAIn this study, two ceramic samples excavated out from Tell Atchana moundin the Amuq Valley-Hatay, Reyhanlı, have been dated by thermoluminescence datingtechnique. The TL peaks have been obtained with the regeneration procedure.These caharacteristic curves of the ceramic samples were used to determine theirarchaeological doses. Then the environmental dose-rate was calculated for theexcavation site and used to deduce the TL ages. The TL results (Sample no 1B, 1453BC and Sample no 3C, 1482 BC) are in general agreement with the timeframe thatarchaeologists have been expecting: Late Bronze Age.Key Words: Thermoluminescence dating method, ceramics, Tell Atchana, theAmuq ValleyII
