Examination the transferring process of main idea to space design

The study, which examines the main idea in interior design an the procese of transferring the main idea to the interior design, aims to emphasize the importance of the main idea in terms of the space design. The first chapter of the study includes the study problem, its aims, importance, and limitations. The second chapter primarily examines the definiton of the main idea and its relation with the notion and concept, which guides the determination of the main idea and called as main idea components; designer, problem, function, user, environment and space and the transfer tools in the expression of the ideas in the mind. The third chapter of study tried to exemplify the definiton of the main idea, its transformation into concept, structure, form, material, color, natural light and texture oriented design approaches in the expression of the main idea and the consistency, development and implementation of the main idea in the design process with qualified interior designs. The fourth chapter of the study provides explanations on the method of the contemplated field study. The purpose of the field study, the determination of the subject of the project, studio management, the determination of the sample group, the qualities of the data collected within the scope of the study, the evaluation of the design processes and the process diagram of transferring the main idea to the design are explained. The fifth chapter of the study includes the analyzes of the practices within the scope of the field study. In the sample divided into two groups, the design provess of 15 students in the first group was analyzed in detail within the framework of notion, definition, diagram, environment, structure, space setup, material, color, texture and implementation of the main idea. The implementations of the students in the second group were evaluated in terms of the main idea-space design. The sixth and last chapter of the study, includes general evaluations of the analyzed implementations, the study is concluded with a coclusion in the light of the findings obtained and suggestions for future studies on the subject.
