Özet (EN)

This study was conducted at the experimental area of Field Crops Department, Agricultural Faculty of Cukurova University as a main crop in 2005. The aim of this study was to determine yield and important plant characteristics of peanut under the main crop condition. Peanut cultivar Halisbey (Virginia market type and semispreading growth type) was used. Three different single row spacing (70, 75 and 80) and three different twin row spacing (70-25-70 cm, 75 x 25 cm, 80 x 25 cm) were applied with three different inra-row spacing ((10, 15, 20 cm) . It was determined that the pod yield of per plant was increased when the intra row spacing was increased, but the pod yield of per hectare was not increased at the same level. The highest pod yield (865 kg/da) was obtained when the row distance was 70-25-70x15 cm twin row pattern. The pod number per plant increased when the plant density was decreased. While the pod number was 13.93 at 70-25-70x10 twin row pattern , it was 38.82 at 70 x20 cm twin row pattern. While the pod yield of per plant was 34 g at 70-25-70x10 cm twin row plant pattern, it was 91.66 g in 70x20 single row plant pattern. Key words: Peanut, Pod yield, Pod quality, Row spacing, Twin row.
