Developing a method for transforming anatolian theatrical village plays in to theatrical stage dances and a simple play

The roots of Anatolian theatrical villages plays, based on the natural cultures such as abundance ceremonies and the animation of nature which date back to centuries ago. In addition to these sources, Asia and Anatolian cultures have shaped ancient civilizations and Islamic theatrical representations significantly. Ceremonial and magical remnants of these sources have survived until today. However, in some representations, there are not any remnants of ceremonies and magic. Generally, these kinds of presentations have arisen from stories, legends, daily events and village life.Only the traces of ritual applications and beliefs in theatrical presentations have reached our day and today since the urbanization, transportation and communication opportunities of Turkish villagers have developed, these features could not protect their presence. As the beliefs have reduced and their functions in the plays changed, presentations have changed significantly and have turned into presentations which have entertaining features.Anatolian theatrical presentations in villages are amateurish and anonym folk dances and traditional plays basing on dance and music. They bear exhibitive theatre and open form features and base on improvisation and imitations. Players and the audience are the same. The audience is in the play.As the contrast of white and black, motives of death and resurrection and abductions of girls are used frequently. Theatrical presentations are the examples of traditional theatre which get the subjects such as abundance, fertility, reproduction, marriage, sexuality, craftsmanship, stock breeding and migration from its own social and cultural life.In this study, a general evaluation of Anatolian theatrical presentations in villages is executed in terms of its essence and form and they are classified according to their theatrical and dramatic features. After that, a method suggestion is offered on the transformation of theatrical presentations into performance dances by benefitting from the ?epic theatre? theory of Bertolt Brecht, ?common work of art? theory of Richard Wagner and ?semiotics? technique.
