Anatolian high school teachers' organizational trust levels and positive psychological capital levels

Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between organizational trust levels and positive psychological capital levels of teachers. The population of the survey model consists of teachers working in state Anatolian High Schools in central districts of İzmir in the 2017-2018 academic year. The sample size of the study was determined as 341. Questionnaires were applied to 550 teachers working in Anatolian High Schools. The study was carried out with the 387 questionnaires which had accaptable validity. The perceptions of Anatolian High School teachers were consulted in this study. In collecting the data, Organizational Trust in Schools Questionnaire and Positive Psychological Capital Questionnaire were used as a measurement tool in the research. In analyzing the data, descriptive statistics, frequecy, percentage, Independent sample t test, One Way ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis H test, Bonferroni test, Spearman Rho Correlation Analysis, Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Simple Linear Regression analysis were used. According to the results obtained from the study, organizational trust levels of teachers are quite high level; positive psychological capital of teachers are in the level of 'completely agree'. There is a difference at a meaningful level between the groups according to education levels of the teachers' fathers and the enviroment that the teachers grow up variables in the organizational trust of the teachers. There is a difference at a meaningful level between the groups according to marital status, education level, professional seniority, education level of the teachers' mothers, the enviroment that the teachers grow up, the problem whether the teachers live or not variables in positive psychological capital of teachers. According to the results, it was identified that organizational trust can explain 17% of change occuring in the perception of positive psychological capital of teachers.
