Examination of the values in Anatolian tales in the preschool period with the painting analysis method

Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the level of awareness raising in children by using the picture analysis method of the values in Anatolian Tales. In the study, the basic qualitative research design, one of the qualitative research models, was used. The research group consists of 12 pre-school students attending the 5-year-old class in the Nursing Homes Kindergarten in the Kayapınar district of Diyarbakir. In the study, based on the Ministry of National Education's Values Education directive, the reflections of the values included in the Preschool Tales-Related Acquisitions-Indicators Game and Activity Suggestions Booklet in Anatolian Tales set in children were examined. In the study, 12 tales were told to the children, and after each tale telling, the children were asked to paint. After the children's drawings, they were asked to explain their drawings and audio recordings were taken during their narration. The drawings made by the children and the sound recordings made constitute the data of the research. Content analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. In the light of the findings, it was examined whether the values expected to be seen in children from the values in Anatolian Tales reach children. The results of the research were examined by considering the main and sub-objectives of the research. It has been observed that children gain awareness of different values from each fairy tale they listen to, according to their inner world, their environment, their experiences and the way they perceive the world. It has been observed that children include fairy tale heroes or elements in the fairy tale in their drawings, and that children gain awareness of different values in each fairy tale in their verbal narratives and express them in their narratives. As a result of the findings, the children's sharing, friendship/friendship, love, hospitality, compassion, responsibility, cooperation/solidarity, problem solving, truth/honesty, family concept, work, kindness, kindness, tolerance, respect, humility, independent and free thinking, self-confidence, It was seen that they gained awareness about the values of saving and courage. It has been concluded that the values reflected from the children in 4 of the 12 tales told are parallel to the values in the Anatolian Tales Booklet, the values reflected from the children in 5 of them and the values expected to be seen are not parallel, and the values expected to be seen in 4 tales are partially reflected on the children.
