Turnkey contract

Nowadays, the construction sector, due to increasing population and technology is constantly evolving. In particular, large-scale projects that require expertise, comes to the forefront. However, these projects are complex and bring great risks and problems. It is sometimes difficult to overcome these problems with existing construction contract models. In this respect, business owners sought to establish a contract relationship within the scope of the freedom of contract, where they could obtain more professional results, where the construction work could be operated as smoothly as the installation, and where they could minimize the problems that might arise in the plant in the subsequent process. As a result of this quest, the parties have created the turnkey contract as a new model of construction contract. Turnkey contract is an innominate contract not regulated in the Turkish Code of Obligations.
