Abstract (EN)

Biodiesel is an alternative fuel for diesel engines that is gaining attention in last years. Its primary advantages are that it is one of the renewable fuels currently available and it is also non toxic and biodegradable. It can be also used directly in most diesel engines without requiring extensive engine modifications. Due to increase, environmental pollution and suitability of fossil fuels have lead to concerns in the looking alternative fuels for diesel In this regard to replace diesel fuel with oxygenated fuel such as biodiesel. Mainly biodiesel refers to a vegetable oil or animal fat based diesel fuel consisting of long chain alkyl (methyl, ethyl or propyl) esters. Biodiesel typically made by chemically reacting lipids (eg. Vegetable oil,soybean oil, animal fat (tallow)) with an alcohol producing fatty acid esters.And various types of catalysts that have been used to effect the transesterification of vegetable, waste and animal oils in biodiesel production. Aims of this thesis, is evaluation of biodiesel production parameters on the effect of biodiesel conversion rate.
