Investigation of the influence of Turkish language activity programme` on reading readiness level of the children who are attending kindergarden

The investigation of the influence of ?Turkish Language Activity Programme? onreading readiness level of the children who are attending kindergarden is constituted the aimof this study. Whether the ?Turkish Activity Programme? which was prepared for thispurpose had a relation with the reading readiness of the child, the sex of the child, the numberof brothers and sisters, birth order, the occupations of parent and the education level ofparents were investigated. The research is experimental designed study that consist ofrepeated measuring of pre test-training-post test.Thirty children who are attending the Yıldırım Beyazıt Primary School, thirty childrenfrom the Yunus Emre Primary School totally sixty children in the city centre of Kırıkkale areconstituted the exemplify of research. To designate the reading maturity level of theexperimental children, Metropolitan Readiness Test? and to designate the information aboutthe child and its family, ?Personal Information Form? were put into practise.After pre test which was applied to experimental and control group, ?TurkishLanguage Activity Programme? which prepared by the research was applied for six weeks,three days a week, thirty- fourty minitues each day.While applying this programme, thecontrol group went on their programme which is curriculum of their own.When compared the experimental and control groups, the difference between avarege pointsto ?Metropolitan Readiness Test? was on favour of group which was applied ?TukishLanguage Activity Programme? (p<0.05).
