Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to determine the immunostimulant effect of anise (Pimpinella anisum) on the non-specific immune system of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). In order to determine the effect of anise on the non-specific immune system of fish, its effects on leukocyte and erythrocyte count, hematocrit value, NBT (Nitrablue Tetrazolium), phagocytosis activity and serum lysozyme activity, biochemical parameters of blood and histological studies on liver, kidney, spleen, gill and intestinal tissues, effect on the growth parameters and digestibility of rainbow trout were also investigated. For this purpose, the baits prepared by adding the powder form of anise at the rates of 0,1%, 0,5%, 1,5%, 3%, and a control feed were fed to the trout for 56 days. At the end of the 4th and 8th weeks, the weights of the fish were measured and blood samples were taken and analyzed. It has been understood that anise can be used at a rate of 0,1% to 1,5% to support the growth of rainbow trout. It has been determined that trout can be used at a rate of 1,5% and for 28 days to support the immune system, and that the use of high doses (3%-5%) has a negative effect on hematological, serological and immunological parameters, and this has been confirmed by histological studies.
