Abstract (EN)

This study, analyzes the risk factors that affects patients who hospitalized and taken treatment at Fırat University (FÜ) Anesthesia Instensive Care Unit in between 2009-2012 and intented to be used as a guide for planning next studies. After a retrospective examination and given to exclusion criteria, 555 of 1800 patients included to test. The patients excluded from study were: patients who remained at Intensive Care Unit for less than 24 hours (20,6%); patients under 18 years (3,7%); patients who underwent cardiovascular surgery (2,5%); patients with malignancy (12,5%); patients who attempted suicide, (4,5%) the lack of data,(6,2%) and the patients who have GKS: 4E and lower values. Sex ratio of patients that included the test were, (54%) male and (47%) female. Patients divided to decades according to their age and the most patients were at 7. decade. The number of patients at 1. and 9. decade ages groups were significantly lower (1,3% and1,4%). Number of patients admitted to intensive care unit was mostly who underwent nöroşürirji surgeries. The patients were admitted to intensive care unit under 82 different conditions. Reason for admission of patients were mostly respiratory distress, unconsciousness (42,9%) Patients remained at intensive care unit for ranged from 2 to 71 days. The ratio of the patients who discharged to their homes or reassigned to other clinics for sustaining treatmens were 59,3% and the ratio of mortality was 40,7%.When the use of medication for anxiety and pain were examined anesthetic agents takes with 22,8% ratio. The number of patients who received nutrition program either way were 48 (8,6%). İnsulin treatment were determined 119 (21,4%) patients underwent insulin treatment and 100 (18%) of this patients were have case of diabetes. The use of inotropic medication was 174 (31,4%). The patients with higher GCS values was found to be remained at intensive care unit for shorter cycles.viiThe patients with higher APACHE values found to be remained at intensive care for longer cycles and ratio of release from intensive care unit or reassinging to other clinics were significantly lower. Certain criterias should be taken for which patients will admitted to intensive care unit. Problems with acceptance of patients found to be one of the important factors that affects intensive care unit results, increases mortality, and increases lenght of stay at intensive care unit. As a result of our research, patients with high-risk factors admitted to our Intensive Care Unit, had just been accepted for purpose of monitoring. This situation appears to be biggest problem of intensive care unit that increases mortality rates. Keywords: Intensive Care, Mortality, Results
