The plan sequence and camera editing in Angelopoulo?s movies

In this thesis following subjects such as Cinema as a work of art, Editing in Cinema, Development of Fiction, The affect of ?Einstein?s theory? to fiction, Universal Fiction, The Cinema of Angelopoulos , Type of fiction on camera and Camera Editing of Theo Angelopoulos Cinema were studied.First chapter of the study ,which dealt with fiction, focused on Development of Fiction, the effects of Einstein?s Theory ,Creative and Artistic Fiction on Cinema, Einstein?s Fiction Types as well as Theories and Types of Fiction in general.The life of Theo Angelopoulos was studied in the second chapter by explaining the time which the famous director lived, the political situation, different eras of his cinema, his point of view to cinema and the effects of his philosphy to cinema .Angelopoulos?s plan sequence technic which distinguished him from the other directors, his selection of fiction and music and finally his three important movies from his latest era are studied in the last chapter of this study which included the movies and cinema technics of Theo Angelopoulos.Throughout this study, the development of Artistic Cinema Fiction was studied from its beginning to present day. Furthermore, the study came to a conclusion that Theo Angelopoulos, who remembered as an Auteur Director, created his shooting technic of Plan Sequence by influencing from all theories of fiction. Also, it is observed that he used this technic in all of his movies.Key Words: Editing, Camera Editing
