Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of ANGPTL 2 and ANGPTL 8 on the diagnosis of PCOS. Material and Method: Eighty patients were included in the study. In this study, control group (n= 40) and polycystic ovary syndrome group (n=40) were formed demographic data and clinical characteristics of the patients have been registered as a prospective study. The data obtained were evaluated with the help of statistical program. Results: In the study, the mean age of the control group was 22.9 ± 3.97 and the mean age of the PCOS group was 21.65 ± 4.14. Participants had normal BMI rates in both groups. In the ovarian size assessment, the control group had a lower mean than the PCOS group. The mean LH values were 4.23 ± 2.15 and 8.19 ± 6.52 in the control and PCOS groups. ANGPTL 8 was found to be positively correlated with BMI and HOMA-IR ratios. ANGPTL 2 was found to be positively correlated with insulin, HOMA-IR ratios. There was a negative correlation between ANGPTL 2 and prolactin ratios, unlike other values. Conclusion: As a result of sensitivity and specificity analyzes, it was concluded that ANGPTL 2 and ANGPTL 8 were not statistically significant in the diagnosis of PCOS and control groups.
